The Commissions functions from its office in Paalana Bhavana, the Pastoral Centre of the Archdiocese. The organization is:

Catechism Commission Core Team

The Commission for Catechetics is like a building.  It must have a roof, supporting structure and individual components.  While the Secretary, Joint Secretary and the office staff represent the roof of the building, a dedicated Core Teams, comprising a selected number of catechism teachers in schools and college and Faith formators in Parishes represent the girders and rafters of the building. They form the think tank of the Commission and draw up plans for imparting scripture based instructions to school, college and parish Catechism students and effectively execute them.  Their task includes drawing up of the Syllabus for each class, setting up a question bank for school, college and parish annual catechisms examination and diocesan annual catechism examination. The members also evaluate the answer books of the students participating at the diocesan annual catechism examinations.  Their scriptural knowledge and experience in teaching catechism in their respective institutions is a great resource to the Commission.
